Community Health Initiative (CHI), in collaboration with the University of Maryland College of Education, is pleased to offer two free, evidence-based programs for Asian American families and youth in Fall 2026: the Parent & Child Connect Workshop and the Emotional Intelligence Workshop for Youth.
Both programs are led by Dr. Cixin Wang, Professor of School Psychology at the University of Maryland, and her research team. These workshops provide culturally adapted strategies to enhance family communication, foster emotional intelligence, and build youth resilience.
Program Overview
1. Parent & Child Connect Workshop: Focuses on positive parenting practices, emotion coaching, active listening, and addressing cultural generation gaps in Asian American families.
2. Emotional Intelligence Workshop for Youth: Designed for middle and high school students to build self-awareness, stress management skills, and healthy coping mechanisms for social and academic pressure.
