The Clarksville Community Health Initiative (CHI) is proud to announce a successful online training session held on Saturday, April 13th. This event focused on two critical public health issues: overdose response and the dangers of vaping, particularly for young people.
Equipping the Community for Emergencies
The first training, "Opiate Overdose Response," was led by Y. Veronica Pei, MD, in partnership with CCACC Health. Dr. Pei provided crucial information on understanding opioids, recognizing overdose signs, and administering Naloxone (Narcan).
Addressing Youth Vaping Concerns
The second part of the session presented "Parents Against Vaping E-Cigarettes (PAVE)," led by health education experts. The presentation addressed the rise of e-cigarette usage among youth, health risks, and effective conversation strategies for parents.
